Cameron Brian Daubern (born June 14, 2000) is a South African singer-songwriter, pianist, guitarist and actor born and raised in Johannesburg. Cameron started playing the piano when he was seven years old. He started Trinity College London examinations in Musical Performance for Piano and the Theory of Music when he was eleven and has completed his grade 8 examinations in both practical piano and theory of music.

Annual participation in the National Eisteddfod of South Africa is a normal part of Cameron’s life since the age of eleven. He has received an Ambassador Award for being in the top 3% of performers across all genres in the country, placed in the Top 10 and several Item Winner certificates for both music and drama in the past.

Cameron participates in the South African Championships of the Performing Arts and has recieved three gold, twelve silver and four bronze medals for acting and two gold, six silvers and a bronze for instruments. He was selected for Team South Africa 2017 and 2018 to represent at the World Championships in Los Angeles.

Among his many achievements, Cameron has also written many songs in the past few years for piano, violin, guitar, drums, vocal etc. of which can be found on SoundCloud, ReverbNation and Bandcamp.

In 2017 he has started to learn to play the guitar and taken singing more seriously to expand his skill set and aid in his compositions.

Exams & Competitions

Trinity College London: Cameron has written music exams through Trinity College London (TCL) for Musical Performance for Piano and the Theory of Music. He started when he was eleven years old and has completed his grade 8 examinations in both practical piano and theory of music. Cameron’s highest qualification is a Level 3 Certificate in Graded Examination in Music Theory (being awarded 21 credits at Level 4 of the EQF) and a Level 3 Certificate in Graded Examination in Music Performance (Piano) (being awarded 32 credits at Level 4 of the EQF).

National Eisteddfod of South Africa: Cameron has participated in the National Eisteddfod of South Africa (NESA) since 2010 and has competed in the following categories:

  • Acting
  • Public Speaking
  • Instrumental
  • Vocal

He has received 13 diplomas, 12 golds, 3 silvers and 1 bronze over the years. In addition to this, he has also received an Item Winner three times (2 for piano, 1 for acting), an Ambassador Award which places him in the top 3% of performers across all categories and genres in the country and lastly, he has been placed in the Top 10. Cameron has competed up to the quarter final rounds of the NEA.

South African Championships of the Performing Arts: Cameron has participated in the South African Championships of the Performing Arts (SACOPA) since February 2017 and has competed in the following events representing Gauteng:

  • Acting
  • Instrumental

He has received 6 gold, 18 silver and 5 bronze over the years. Cameron has also been selected for Team South Africa 2017 and 2018. This qualifies him to compete in the World Championships of the Performing Arts which is held in Los Angeles, California. He was also awarded his Gauteng Provincial Full Colors from the Gauteng Department of Cultural Affairs at the Mosaïek Theatre for both acting and instrumental.
